María Luisa Marín, known artistically as Mussa or Mussa Medusa, is a multifaceted performer, actress, songwriter, voice mover, director, event coordinator and sound producer from Puerto Rico. A prominent figure in Puerto Rico's performative art scene, she has worked with renowned directors such as Sylvia Bofill, Ana Paula Teixeira, Jacqueline Duprey, Alexis García, Pó Rodil, Alejandra Rosa and Edrimael Delgado. Her work has taken her beyond Puerto Rico, with notable performances in New York, Mexico City, the Dominican Republic, and Baltimore. As a transdisciplinary artist and director, Mussa embraces sensuality as a source of creation and empowerment. Since 2021, she has facilitated The Sex Siren Series workshops, hosted in Puerto Rico, in the Dominican Republic and Mexico. Mussa also serves as an M.C., her voice has echoed through the rhythmic anthems of ballroom in Puerto Rico since 2020. Her vocal artistry is central to the contemporary Vogue and Ballroom scene in Puerto Rico. In 2021, she composed music to serve her powerful lyricism and storytelling. Her creative practice, which includes directing, is deeply rooted in transdisciplinary collaboration, allowing her to move seamlessly between roles—whether embodying a character, directing a performance, or voicing the collective spirit of those fighting for queer liberation through radical beauty.
